"A Movement and a Rest"

A walk in the spirit is a walk of experience. And any word or revelation that comes from God must be experienced to not only be understood, but to yield the change deep within your spirit. It is of vital importance that we move out of the spiritual plane, and not the mind or mental plane. If we can relax, draw, and let the flow come from the spirit, then we will cease the "striving" which comes from the mind as it seeks to accomplish that which should be executed from the spirit.

The minute you try to figure something out, to push something to happen or come forth, that moment most likely is born out of a striving from the mind, rather than the spirit.

On what plane do we seek fulfillment; the mental/soul plane, or the spirit. Am I trying to complete something through my mind, that was begun thru my spirit. Before you decide, stop and ask yourself, from what source have you drawn upon. The mental or psychic level, or the spirit. Are you seeking to complete in the flesh, what began in the spirit? Do not confuse what I am saying here, we may move in many different dimensions, whether, soul, psychic, mental, emotional, spirit; but it will be generated from our spirit, and by our spirit.

The term "psychic" speaks about the unction of the soul/mind, rather than the spirit of the person. The spirit carries life, and can be a transmitter of God; the soul/mind or psychic is a producer or transmitter of another?s emotions, thoughts, fears or worries. And this is the reason it is so very difficult for the psychic person to convey a tangible blessing without transferring their own mental and emotional baggage. This is not to say that the spiritual one cannot operate thru the pyschic, mental, emotional, soul, or any other dimension; you just cannot take the psychic individual and expect spirit to be conveyed.

There is a great deal of confusion about spirit and soul. Many call soul, spirit. For they have no concept that man is a spirit, a soul, and a body. They sidestep the issue and say that man is a body and a soul or spirit. You end up with a mish mash of soulish, mental concepts and approaches that in no way access or give expression to the spirit of man.

Witchcraft draws upon the soul, mental, emotional dimension. It has little to do with spirit. So many of the science of mind religions draw upon the reasoning of the mind, and put the mind literally on a "pedestal". You know.... the power of positive thinking etc. All of these movements are operating from a soul/mental plane. And most of religion for that matter, functions from the soul. Thus you have the great rise in the charismatic churches; all based upon the soul and emotions. Everybody trying to convince everybody else about their beliefs. And the more "successful" the religion, the more developed they are in appealing to the emotions and pocket books of their congregations. All soul, not spirit.

What is the sign of Sonship? According to the Gospel of Thomas from the Dead Sea Scrolls; it is a "movement and rest". "If they say to you, ?Who are you??, say: "We are His sons, and we are the elect of the Living Father." If they ask you: "What is the sign of our Father in you?, say to them: "It is a movement and a rest." Gospel of Thomas Logos 90; 2-4. Although this sounds rather cryptic, this is speaking of a leading of the spirit, for the mark of true sonship is that you are led by the spirit. What spirit? The Holy Spirit, or your own spirit? I would say your own spirit, for when you come to this place of consciousness, you have begun to understand deeply that you are at one with God, and as Christ, inseparable. So the leading will come from your spirit, as you listen and carefully move.

Lest we consider that being "led by the spirit" is a breeze, we should take into account the function of our subconscious. It has been documented that if you do a given thing, at the same time, for 21 consecutive days, this repetitive act will ingrain tracks within your subconscious that will create what we call "habits". Which we can also call "patterns"; something we do without thinking, because it has become an act of the subconscious mind. Stop and think for a moment; how many things do you do habitually, which are part of your normal day in and day out of functioning. You would be surprised just how much of your actual functioning is a product of subconscious conditioning and when you take that force into account, you will see just how challenging it can become to be freely led by the spirit. This is not to say that we cannot do this, but it is important to have everything on the table before you, so that you understand just what you are dealing with. We cannot continue to be creatures of habit; or people that are governed by the subliminal suggestions of the media, and every other force out there that would seek to control you. If we are going to have any "habits" at all, let them be a conditioning that demands that we draw and be led moment by moment. Is that possible in this electronic age of speed and hurry and clutter.... absolutely. At some point we must let go; and know the provision will be there for whatever we need. This sheds new light to the scripture that says, ..."seek ye first the kingdom of God, and everything else will be added unto you." That "kingdom of God", is indeed within you.

Can we afford to walk in any other way? I do not think so. There is much at stake, far more than the bickering of the US Presidency; what is at stake is the issue of the Father having free course thru His sons, to complete His plan in the earth. This will only be accomplished by the spirit, by the Father?s spirit, and by our spirit, as we set aside any desire to move on the soul/psychic or mental planes, and choose to walk in the spirit, fully. It is time to come up higher.
