Section 5; Prophet, Priest & King

The prophet Joel foresaw this day as a day of tremendous upheaval.  It was a day of darkness stretching forth upon the land; yet it was a day of great light as the Father would begin to pour out His Spirit upon all of mankind.  It was a day when the spiritual and physical dimensions that we have known would begin to merge or overlap.

Joel 2:28-29  " And it will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind;  and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.  And even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."

Since the early 1900's we have seen a progressive outpouring of the Spirit upon all of mankind. God, who is not a respecter of persons, has poured forth His Spirit liberally upon the just and the unjust alike.  We have seen both the godly and the ungodly begin to tune into the wonders of the age to come. 

As a result of this outpouring, people are discovering and un-harnessing some of the latent powers within them.  We have seen many begin to literally harness the power of the mind.   We have seen a rise in healings; people being risen from the dead, and many other feats not thought possible, according to the limited understanding of man.

It has been in this climate of God’s outpouring to an apostate age that we have seen the rise of what many call the “new age” movement.  We have seen a restoring or returning to many of the capabilities that have been inherent within man since God created him. 

It is during this time of God’s outpouring that we are seeing the prophecy of Joel being fulfilled which speaks of the dreams and visions that come to a people in the last days. What exactly does this mean? That God is awakening His people to a world that they have been, for the most part, dead to. 

As God brings to pass the prophecies of Joel we must be very careful not to limit Him.  We must not resist this awakening that He is bringing to us.

History has shown a pattern from which we can draw; that the false has always preceded the true.  Let me be more explicit. 

Before God brings forth something new, the world of evil becomes very active to discredit it. They create a reproach to what they perceive God is about to do.  Unless you are walking in the spirit, you will not be able to  grasp this new thing God is doing.  It will just not be acceptable to the mind. In many ways this is a left-handed blessing as Satan once again becomes the unwitting tool of God. 

When God brings a new level to His people it will often look similar to the false that had preceded it.  The deception that was set in motion to discredit the true becomes another major obstacle for God’s people to hurdle. This has been the pattern for hundreds of years.

An example of this would be the spiritualist movement of the late 1800's which carried thru into the 40's as well. You saw the rise of witchcraft, seances, speaking with the dead, levitation, and astral traveling; among other bizarre happenings. For what purpose and to what gain?   -  to discredit the moving of God’s Spirit as He began to awaken His people to the world of Spirit as the conjunction of ages unfolded. 

This cross over between worlds and dimensions has continued to come closer and closer as God brings His people into their inheritance.  He is bringing His people into a true walk in the spirit.

Our concept of God’s moving is usually far less than the magnitude of His provision. Even the Word speaks..."My ways are not your ways, neither are My thoughts your thoughts” (Isa 55:8).  In our greatest moments of perception we are still often unable to grasp the enormity of what God is doing and the provision that He has set aside for His people.

As God continues to restore the experiences and truths for this new day; it can be challenging for us, to say the least.  You must be able to sift and sort through what is coming to know what is of God, and what is of Satan - lest you reject the new thing that God is doing.

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. – 1Co 1:21

As we have just read;  man cannot come to know God through the agency of his mind. To the mind God appears as folly. When you walk in the spirit, however, you have the ability to see and to know the truth. 

Although the false may have preceded the true, Satan has unwittingly set the stage that only the spiritual will know and will be able to see the hour of their visitation.

We are at the time of a conjunction of ages; a conjunction of the spiritual world with the physical world. This conjunction is not something that has happened over night. Since the early 50's we have seen a tremendous increase of the rate at which this restoration of God’s Spirit has been taking place.

We are seeing the rise of a general awakening which has begun to happen to both the believer and unbeliever alike. The prophecy of Joel speaks of God pouring forth His spirit upon ALL mankind.  What are the signs which follow? - the flow of prophecy, the flow of visions, and the flow of dreams.

It becomes important for us at this time to understand what is taking place around us and within us; that we might rightly discern the true intent of God’s will for His sons.

We are not like the sons of the prophets who only watched Elisha follow Elijah to receive a double portion. They walked in a measure of revelation; yet they did not partake of the provision that was available (2Kings 2). Our destiny is to enter in and fully possess the promises and reality of sonship for which we have been called to partake of. This will be an ever-increasing and unfolding experience - not just a revelation.

In the book of Joel it speaks of an increasing of the dreaming of dreams and the seeing of visions during this time.  This experience represents more than just an increase in dream and visions; it represents a conjunction of dimensions or realms that is happening at an accelerated rate. 

The veil which separates the realm of spirit from this realm of the physical actually does not exist.  It feels like it does, because we still live in a great deal of unawareness.  But this does not have to be.  When Christ ascended to the Father He rent the veil.  It was removed.  This separation or veil has existed only as part of our belief system; but that does not give validity to it.  The veil only exists because we believe it does - but God is removing this out of our thinking.

How does this increased communication from the Lord and those of the household of faith come to us?  Dreams and visions are two of those ways.  Until our personal vibration is high enough to see and hear the realm of the Spirit with our physical senses, we will find much of the communication coming this way.  Often this communication comes in the time just between waking and sleeping, when your senses are heightened and sharp.
