Dreaming Dreams
& Seeing Visions

The prophet Joel foresaw this day as a day of tremendous upheaval, a day of darkness stretching forth upon the land, yet a day of great light as the Father would begin to pour forth of His Spirit upon all of mankind - - A day when the spiritual and physical dimensions would begin to merge or conjunct together.

Read the second of chapter of Joel.  A tremendous insight into this period of time....

Joel 2:28-29  " And it will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind;  and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.  And even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days."

Since the early 1900's we have seen a progressive outpouring of the Spirit upon all of mankind. God, who is not a respecter of persons, has poured forth His Spirit liberally upon the just and unjust alike...... and as a result, we have seen both the godly and the ungodly begin to tune into the wonders of the age to come as well as the latent powers within man himself. And we have seen many begin to literally harness the power of the mind.   There has been a rise in healings, in people being risen from the dead, and many other feats not thought possible according to the limited understanding of man.

It has been in this climate of God’s outpouring to an apostate age that we have seen the rise of what many call the New Age movement.  However it is not really new at all, but a restoring or returning to many of the capabilities that have been inherent in man since God created him.  

Once again, God is pouring forth His Spirit, and it does not matter to whom the truth may be received, but, without the revelation and relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ, it will not profit any in the long run. In that day, He will say, ‘Depart from Me, for I never knew you."

It is in this arena of God’s outpouring that we see the prophecy of Joel being fulfilled which speaks of the dreams and visions that will come upon people in the last days. What exactly does this mean? That God is awakening His people to a world that they have been for the most part literally dead to.  Our mind’s concept of God’s moving is most always far less than the magnitude of His provision. Even the Word speaks..."My ways are not your ways, neither are My thoughts your thoughts." In our greatest moments of perception, we cannot conceive the scope of God’s provision, to us who love Him.

I recall back in the days of the early 1900's, back on Azusa street in Los Angeles, California, that as the Spirit fell upon many the immediate response from the religious community was to label it as "occultic", "from the devil", and mainstream Christianity vehemently opposed this new, strange thing that was happening. It took several generations before this "baptism of the Spirt" began to be accepted. And once again as God brings to pass the prophecies of Joel we must be very careful not to limit Him, not to resist the awakening that God is bringing to His people.

History has shown a pattern from which we can draw, and that pattern is that the false has always preceded the true that God would bring. Satan has been the great mimic of God’s ways, for he has seen a measure of that which God was bringing forth, and in seeing, would consistently launch a subtle yet deadly attempt to discredit the true by bringing forth the false. The false could appear just like the true, but with enough deception to lay the ground work to discredit the true as it would come forth.

A prime example of this would be the spiritualist movement of the late 1800's which carried thru into the 40's as well. You saw the rise of witchcraft, seances, speaking with the dead, levitation, travel outside the body, among other bizarre happenings. For what purpose and to what gain?   -  To discredit the moving of God’s Spirit as He began to awaken His people to the world of Spirit as the conjunction of ages began.  The cross over between worlds and dimensions has continued to come closer and closer, and God has begun to bring His people into the true manifestation of a walk in the spirit and a level of spiritual communication.

We are at the time of a conjunction of ages. A conjunction of the spiritual world with the physical world that we know. This conjunction is not something that has happened over night, but since the early 50's we have seen an tremendous increase of the rate at which this restoration of God’s Spirit has been taking place.

We are seeing the rise of a general awakening which has begun to happen to both the believer and unbeliever alike. The prophecy of Joel speaks of God pouring forth His spirit upon ALL mankind, with what signs following? The flow of prophecy, the flow of visions, the flow of dreams, and the tidal wave of judgement that also ensues. We are here now. Not tomorrow, but now; right now.

It becomes important for us at this time of juncture in realms to understand what is taking place around us and within us, that we might rightly discern the true intent of God’s will for His sons.

We are not like the sons of the prophets who saw Elisha follow Elijah to receive a double portion, who had a measure of revelation, but who did not enter in to partake of the provision. Rather our destiny is to enter in to fully possess the promises and reality of sonship for which we indeed have been laid hold of by Christ Jesus. It is to be an ever increasing and unfolding experience, not just a revelation.

Joel speaks of the dreaming of dreams, and the seeing of visions. This conjunction of dimensions or realms, for there are many in the Father’s house, is happening at an accelerated rate, and the by-product is an ever increasing flow of communication from the other side of the veil, (although in reality there is no veil except that which we perceive to be in our thinking).

How does this communication from the Lord and those of the household of faith come to us? Until our personal vibrational plane is raised high enough to see and hear the realm of the Spirit with our physical senses, we will find much of the communication coming thru the dream realm, or the time just between waking and sleeping, where your senses are heightened and sharp.

The dreams which are coming to us in this day are not the same as what we have known of dreams in the past, for we are experiencing an overlapping of realities at this time, and the dreams and visions have begun to take on a much more significant role to us – for both communication and impartation flow forth, for there is no true communication without a vicarious impartation of Spirit. In layman terms I am referring to the scripture in the New Testament which refers to seeing Christ, and being changed into His likeness. When you are exposed to the Spirit of the Lord, you are indeed changed. Impartation is conveyed, His likeness to you. It is no different with the scope of the dreams and visions which are coming forth in this day, for there is spirit to spirit impartation coming to us which is bringing change. However minute the change may seem, never-the-less, God is using this as one vehicle to bring impartation to your spirit.

The dreams which are coming forth now I would categorize in 3 groups:

1. Those which are purely spiritual communication, verbal or otherwise, that is not in cryptic form, but very straightforward.

2. That which come in signs, symbols and perhaps cryptic by nature, which takes interpretation, perhaps much like the gift Daniel had to interpret dreams. And

3. Those which are strictly deep seated aspects within our being that God is flushing out,  whose purpose of communication is to give you an understanding of what the Spirit is dealing with or highlighting in your life at a specific time.

If I have found one common thread in many believer’s minds, it has been a thread to discount what they receive in their "night visions" as I would call these dreams. Do not take lightly what will come to you in the night, for until you are ready for a deeper level of communication, this will be one of the greatest means of communication. Dreams also provide a platform for others to come to you and speak, for much of what I have learned in the past few years has come in part and directed in part by those in the cloud of witnesses.

If you truly desire to walk with Him on the highest plane, then you must gird your minds for that which He wishes to bring to you. Do not let the false which has paraded itself for generations as the "occult" frighten you away from the deep awakening and calling that is going out to you from the Spirit. Learn to let go. Trust Him. Let go of your mind, your concepts, and let Him establish something new for you. Even as Isaiah spoke, "Behold I will do something new, will you be aware?"

God is desiring to break thru to you on new levels, and dreams and visions are the order of this day. Will you open up and step out on new waters and let Him lead you where you would not? God desires to draw you up higher; let go of your fears, and your concept - and let go. Just let go. Will the promises only tease you, or will you possess them? Are you ready for a new way of life? Are you ready for a change that will be greater than the change you had to become His bondservant initially?  Let go of your restraints. Tell Him you are ready.

Most likely most of you have several guides, shepherds or angelic watchers to whom the Lord has directed to convey guidance and teaching to you, just waiting for the time that you will be ready.
