Understanding Spiritual Signs
As our bodies come alive to the spirit world,
what does it all mean?
Today God is making people alert and aware of a world
that they have no senses to perceive. The Age of Spirit
has been coming, and God has been moving to prepare
people for a higher spiritual level. We are living at
the threshold of the manifestation of the sons of God,
the first resurrection, and the glorification of the
believer’s body.
God is releasing a great amount of awareness of the
whole spirit age before us, a day in which we are seeing
the heavens opened, and a conjunction of the natural
realm and the spirit realm.
This is a time of restoration, and the Spirit that
raised up Jesus from the dead is beginning to give life
to the mortal body.
The simplest scriptural explanation of the signs is
found in Romans 8:11:
"The Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead is
quickening our mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells
in us." This verse is not speaking
about resurrection or about immortality, it actually
means the Spirit will give life to your mortal bodies,
because these mortal bodies have been dead.
As the Spirit within you becomes alive to the realm of
Spirit, and as you grow in your revelation and
knowledge, you will find that these signs convey to you,
in a limited way, an insight into that realm. Although
these signs come to get your attention, you will still
need the revelation of the Holy Spirit to understand
specifically what the signs mean for you. We rejoice
that we have come to the threshold of a wonderful new
day, and it is time to fully enter in and receive our
inheritance.
There are various categories of signs coming in the End
Time: Symptom, Assault, Impartation, Ministering, Devil,
Angel, Divine Presence, and Restoration signs to name
the primary ones.
Be hungry to know. Be curious to seek, feel around.
Don't underestimate signs; they are a sign of God's
presence.
Look to the scriptures to interpret or shed light on the
signs that you are receiving.
Signs come differently in different people and may come
differently to one person at various times in his life.
In response to a letter asking for further teaching on
Signs, we answered as follows…
A: In Numbers chapter 12 Aaron and Marion were upset
because Moses had married a black woman and they rebuked
him by reminding him that he was not the only one who
could get a message from God. Whereupon God called all
three of them out in front of the tabernacle. God asked
Marion and Aaron if they were not a little bit afraid to
rebuke His servant Moses whom He spoke to face to face.
In verse 6, "if there be a prophet among you I will
speak to him in dreams and visions: and in verse 8 He
also said that he would speak to his prophets through
dark speeches and signs. God also punished Marion with
Leprosy, which Moses lifted off from her through prayer.
From this time on God spoke to his Prophets by
revelation and He would confirm it by some sign or in
some cases an Angel. I have been in the Charismatic
movement since the 70's and have not heard one man of
God say that God spoke to him audibly, or face to face.
1Corinthians teaches that in the Church there are five
basic ministries for the perfecting of the saints IE
Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.
These ministries may move in the nine gifts of the
spirit at any time. These ministries are for perfecting
the Church or Saints. There are some people (police
trained) who can walk or drive down the street and be
aware of everything that is going on around them, will
note suspicious looking characters, be able to describe
this person or persons, including clothes and license
plates. Others, like me, will remember nothing. That is
their job.
If our function is to perfect the Saints we must be
aware of everything that is Spiritually going on. These
gifts are not to demonstrate our spirituality but to
minister. Paul encourages us to practice the presence of
God. If we are encouraged thus, we need something more
than a gut feeling. First we need some sort of
confirmation plus a revelation that He is present. The
Jewish priests used their uplifted hands to manifest
this feeling. If we are really interested and practice
this, some parts of our bodies will become attuned and
manifest His presence. We will remember this and the
next time we are in His presence the same feeling will
occur. Now we have the tools with which to practice.
This is of prime importance because our ministries
should also reflect this presence. I once found myself
in a group in which Satan himself was being manifested.
I have been in the presence of rotted corpses but I have
never experienced rottenness or death to that degree.
The scriptures describe Satan as death and a murderer. I
did not need to look that one up. I have also smelled
the presence of Angels, which have a beautiful aroma
which was indescribably gorgeous. From experience as
councilors we have learned that the person being
ministered often times has no idea of the nature of his
problem and his opinion often cannot be trusted. It is
far better that God reveals the problem by revelation
which then raises the person’s faith to that of healing.
Through those dark signs that we are given we have the
tools of confirmation. If we are in a Church it is very
comforting to know whether the person or persons
speaking are anointed or just talking through their hat,
thereby tickling your ears. Using our experience and
doing a little experimenting we have found that when in
the presence or listening to an Apostle accompanied by
the presence of God resulted in the thumb of the right
hand becoming alive. When in the presence of a Prophet,
the next finger would come alive often. When in the
presence of a spiritual teacher an anointing of the ring
finger of the right hand became anointed and
consequently the presence of a pastor resulted in an
anointing of the little finger. Many of these signs were
developed by the fact of practicing the presence of God.
Due to the fact that ancient Kings wore a signet on
their thumb and used this signet as a seal for affixing
their authority to a document of judgment and the fact
that Joshua and other leaders always cut off the thumbs
of captured enemy kings signifying that the king had
lost his authority to judge. Thus when the thumb of the
councilor becomes anointed in a certain manner it
signifies that something in the life of the person or
persons being ministered to is under judgment.
Prior to kings, the Israelites were ruled by Judges.
There was one woman judge by the name of Deborah in the
book of Judges chapter 4. There was an enemy leader of
ten thousand men who eventually lost the battle. This
leader named Sisera was alone and was seeking refuge. He
fled to a tent where a tent peg was driven through both of his temples with
a hammer. Sometimes one to whom you might be ministering
will have sign or pain on both temples. This could mean
that he or she is under a deceptive judgment. And when
detected may be delivered from such.
Many of the signs develop from experience. Ask
questions. Always keep track of your experience in order
to build up your repertoire.
